Hello and welcome to another week of the Banana Meter! For those not aware of how this works, let me explain it to you. First, our critics check out a film. Then, they rate it on our scale of 0-100%, we gather the percentage from all of your critics and that’s how we get our rating on the Banana Meter.
What is the Banana Meter scale, you ask?
When a film hits above 85% or higher from our critics, it means it hit Bonafide Bananas status.
When a film hits between 55-84% or higher from our critics, it means it hit Ripe status.
When the film hits under 55%, it means it hit Sour Status.
Hitting the Banana Meter today is The
‘Moon Knight’ Season One Finale
Here is what our Ripe Banana Critics are saying about the episode:
Ryan Cam
Banana Meter Rating: 75%
This was a bit disappointing. But it doesn’t damper my overall feelings for the series.
Matthew Fox
Banana Meter Rating: 40%
It ended as it ran, a stylish series that was often confusing. It was ambitious but ultimately unsatisfying.
Beatrice Copland
Banana Meter Rating: 85%
A pretty solid ending. Layla and Konshu pull out all the stops to prevent the Goddess Ammit from wreaking havoc in an episode that balances the battles both physical and emotional. Not quite as intense as other finales but probably with better payoffs.
Craig McKenzie
Banana Meter Rating: 65%
A good finale that delivers engaging beats but does give way to being an action piece with a limited resolution to some aspects.
Debopriyaa Dutta
Banana Meter Rating: 90%
The Moon Knight season finale really delivers on all fronts, tieing up numerous narrative threads while setting up a beloved comics character, and possibly a new installment for the future. Minus the CGI galore, the action sequences are well done, the characters come into their own, and the overall payoff is astoundingly great.
Rowan Wood
Banana Meter Rating: 80%
It suffers from the same narrative conclusion issues that have plagued most of Disney+’s MCU series, but the Moon Knight finale is still an excellent addition to canon with a satisfying ending and marvelous visuals.
Maxance Vincent
Banana Meter Rating: 100%
The best finale of any Disney+ MCU show so far. Period.
Jonathan Widdup
Banana Meter Rating: 82%
I’m not surprised at the final episode of MoonKnight didn’t compare to some of the previous episodes, due to the amount this final episode had to do, but the execution was a lot better than I thought it would be, it still felt fairly rushed. But still a very entertaining final episode of a great show.
