Box Office Report: ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’ Dominates; ‘Ambulance’ Disappoints

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now the highest-grossing video game movie of all time, and the highest-grossing film of Jim Carrey’s career, totaling up to $71 million at the domestic box office, while Michael Bay’s Ambulance disappoints with a lukewarm opening weekend, even if critics praised the film as one of the director’s best. Everything Everywhere All At Once‘s domestic box office has also gone up 462%, now in 6th place, compared to last week’s ninth position, as it is expanding nationwide. Here are the top 10 films of the weekend:

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Paramount): $71M – 4,234 theatres
  2. Morbius (Sony/Marvel): $10.2M (-74%) – 4,268 theatres
  3. The Lost City (Paramount): $9.1M (-38%) – 3,797 theatres
  4. Ambulance (Universal): $8.7M – 3,412 theatres
  5. The Batman (Warner Bros/DC): $6.5M (-41%) – 3,254 theatres
  6. Everything Everywhere All At Once (A24): $6.0M (+462%) – 1,250 theatres
  7. Uncharted (Sony): $2.6M (-28%) – 2,318 theatres
  8. Spider-Man: No Way Home (Sony/Marvel Studios): $625,000 (-57%) – 1,009 theatres
  9. Selena (re-release, Warner Bros): $402,280 – 308 theatres
  10. Sing 2 (Universal): $220,000 (-75%) – 936 theatres
