Box Office Report: ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ Roars the Box Office

The park has opened once again and Jurassic World Dominion has obviously roared as the king of the box office for this weekend…but not for long as Lightyear is poised to become number one this week. Even with a terrible critical reception, the film still ended up making over $100 million at the box office, which shows how much critic-proof the Jurassic franchise actually is. Don’t be fooled: there’s going to be another reboot (in a few years from now), and that one could make a billion for sure. Just don’t bring back Colin Trevorrow in any capacity.

Here’s the full list of the top ten films of the week:

  1. Jurassic World Dominion (Universal): $145M – 4,676 theatres
  2. Top Gun: Maverick (Paramount): $51M (-42.4%) – 4,262 theatres
  3. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Disney): $5.2M (-43.1%) – 3,345 theatres
  4. The Bad Guys (Universal): $2.5M (-24.2%) – 2,416 theatres
  5. The Bob’s Burgers Movie (Disney): $2.4M (-46.8%) – 2,605 theatres
  6. Downton Abbey: A New Era (Focus Features): $1.7M (-45%) – 2,011 theatres
  7. Everything Everywhere All At Once (A24): $1.3M (-35.4%) – 1,434 theatres
  8. Firestarter (2022) (Universal/Peacock): $833.340 (+732.8%) – 150 theatres
  9. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Paramount): $750.559 (-56%) – 1,067 theatres
