Box Office Report: ‘Doctor Strange’ Reigns Supereme Yet Again, But Drops Dramatically

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has enjoyed yet another profitable week at the box office, but has dropped drastically at 67% for the weekend. This means that repeat viewings aren’t as strong with this film compared with Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Still, the film has amassed over $688 million at the worldwide box office in two weeks, which is very impressive, but I don’t believe that it will hit the $1 billion mark that some pundits were saying they will. Time will tell, of course, but it’s looking unlikely.

Here’s the full list of the top 10 films for the week:

  1. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Disney/Marvel Studios): $61M (-67.5%) – 4,534 theatres
  2. The Bad Guys (Universal Pictures/Dreamworks Animation): $6.8M (-27.9%) – 3,788 theatres
  3. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Paramount Pictures): $4.5M (-24.4%) – 3,116 theatres
  4. Firestarter (Universal Pictures): $3.8M – 3,412 theatres
  5. Everything Everywhere All At Once (A24): $3.3M (-6.4%) – 1,726 theatres
  6. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (Warner Bros): $2.4M (-43.2%) – 2,578 theatres
  7. The Lost City (Paramount): $1.73M (-37,4%) – 1,675 theatres
  8. The Northman (Focus Features): $1.70M (-40.6%) – 1,934 theatres
  9. Family Camp (Roadside Attractions): $1.4M – 854 theatres
